Sitting gently in the rainforest north of Mossman, Silky Oaks Lodge is an oasis of calm in the chaos of the rainforest. With the crystal clear Mossman River running by and the vibrant greens of the trees glistening in the low light, it is a place of dreams.

The Treetops Restaurant and Bar share a vast, breezy space high in the trees, above the river. Shiny rich timbers glow, deep shadows create intimate spaces, and the air is filled with jungle noises. It is a captivating spot.

Equally gorgeous, the accommodation is a mix of luxurious tree houses, all deeply resonating with their rainforest settings. They all open to an elevated balcony, some with a day bed or sofa setting, and all with a tempting hammock to relax in. All but the Daintree Treehouses have a spa bath in the bathroom.

There are guided rainforest walks or you can guide yourself. The guided ones usually head out in the early evening when the rainforest is alive with activity. It’s a real treat to wander through the forest at this time, but don’t wander off the track! Other activities include yoga, the all-pampering spa, and indigenous experiences with the local Kuku Yulangi people. These include tours at nearby Mossman Gorge, Cooya Beach and Cape Tribulation.
