It also respects and shares the lands of the local Kuku-Yulangi people, who have been in this area for millennia. There are a number of opportunities to interact with this beautiful culture.

Daintree Ecolodge offers many opportunities for guests to enjoy the ecology of surrounding areas of the Daintree National Park. The Daintree is a major attraction for bird watchers from all around the world due to the large number of species that inhabit the rainforest, many of which are endemic to Far North Queensland. The Daintree Wellness Spa incorporates indigenous techniques and products, with a special massage, Julma at the Waterfall, a highlight. The cuisine features organic foods wherever possible and highlights the rich array of local foods available. And the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef are within an easy day trip.

Accommodation is in 15 bayans (tree houses) that sit high in the tree canopy or nestle on the forest floor. Screened verandahs open out to the trees, with birds and butterflies flitting past, and the forest is filled with birdsong, especially in the mornings and evenings. Each bayan is fully screened, with a spacious bathroom, tea and coffee-making area and king bed. Some have a day bed on the verandah.

Daintree Ecolodge & Spa offers a fabulous stay for families, couples and groups and is particularly appealing to nature lovers and those wanting a quiet couples stay.
